Kayla Babicki

Danceworks! Faculty

KAYLA BABCKI is blessed to teach dance full-time, splitting her time between Twirl Performing Arts in Newtown Square and Kicks Academy of Dance in Glen Mills. She is certified in Acrobatic Arts (level I) as well as Rhythm Works Integrative Dance, a program designed to safely teach students with learning differences and developmental delays; she is also a certified yoga teacher with a strong base of knowledge to inform safe movement practices and injury prevention techniques. Kayla is dedicated to keeping up with continuing education opportunities to ensure her classes are informed by current research in child development and somatic practices.

Kayla is a graduate of Temple University, where she studied magazine journalism. She has choreographed for Philadelphia Dance Day, the Ruba Club in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and she enjoys choreographing music videos and live performances for local bands.

Kayla believes that dance is a tool for students to improve their daily lives through nervous system regulation and self-expression. Her classes focus on providing safe and developmentally-appropriate creative challenges that direct dancers to take ownership of their experiences in class. Kayla believes that all people, no matter their age, previous experience, or natural abilities, should be encouraged and given the tools to create art, and she is so excited to have the opportunity though FSBT’s Danceworks program to bring the joy of movement into the school day.
