Mary Kate Reynolds
Mary Kate Reynolds grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, where she started ballet at the Greenville Ballet School at age two. At age 14, she joined the school of Carolina Ballet Theatre under the direction of Hernan Justo and Anita Pacylowski. During her time there, she placed in the Youth American Grand Prix regional competition and competed in the Finals in New York in 2008 and 2009, and received a full scholarship to the Bolshoi summer program in NYC. She also credits much of her training to many summers spent studying with Magaly Suarez in Pompano Beach, Florida. Since joining First State Ballet Theatre, Mary Kate has performed many leading roles, including Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Marie in The Nutcracker, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and the title role in Cinderella. This is her eighth season with the company.
