FSBT Intern Program 2015: Marketing Intern

Durations: February-May 2015
Time commitment: 10-15 hours a week, remote work option available but must be able to come in once a week and for special events
Compensation: unpaid, class credit

Job description:
This position reports to the development director and will support First State Ballet Theatre’s online marketing and development efforts. As the marketing intern, you will gain hands on experience developing and executing a comprehensive online marketing campaign. With support from the development director, you will help execute and develop social media and online marketing strategies geared to increase our reach in the region, ticket sales, school enrollment and donation.

You will leave the positions with a tangible project you can refer to for future employers and applications. Through this position, you will be exposed to the work environment of a non-profit office with innovative and forward thinking directors.

Responsibilities:
-Create engaging content calendar for FSBT’s social media platforms
-Help develop professional online presence of FSBT by maintaining content on website and social media presence: update photos on Facebook, update content on website, etc.
-Brainstorm and execute online marketing campaigns to increase ticket sales and donations
-Write content for HTML emails
-Develop, execute and edit short promo videos
-Support Development Director in administrative tasks for both marketing and development efforts when needed
-Attend FSBT events and shows to provide live updates for online strategy

Qualifications:
-College level junior or senior concentrating in marketing, communications, business or arts administration
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Fast learner with a can-do attitude and a tendency to go above and beyond
-Creative thinker with the ability to see projects through
-Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and a willingness to try new online marketing tools and strategies
-Interest and knowledge of ballet and the performing arts a plus!


FSBT Intern Program 2015: Development Intern

Durations: February-May 2015

Job description:
This position reports to the development director and will support First State Ballet Theatre’s development and fundraising efforts. As the development intern, you will gain hands on experience with grant writing and sponsorship proposals. With support from the development director, you will help research foundation and corporations and compile data and content for grant and sponsorship applications.

You will leave the positions with tangible projects you can refer to for future employers and applications. Through this position, you will be exposed to the work environment of a non-profit office with innovative and forward thinking employees.

Responsibilities:
-Update and research deadlines for grants and sponsorships that FSBT would be eligible for
-Gather research and write grant and sponsorship proposals
-Assist with individual donor record management
-Brainstorm and execute individual donor campaigns to help fundraise for FSBT operating and production needs.

Qualifications:
-College level junior or senior concentrating in English, business or arts administration
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Fast learner with a can-do attitude and a tendency to go above and beyond
-Creative thinker with the ability to see projects through
