Hannah Epstein, a Wilmington native, began her ballet training at the Academy of Dance with Victor Wesley at age three. Hannah began concentrated ballet study at the School of First State Ballet Theatre when she was twelve, and augmented her training by attending summer intensives at First State Ballet Theatre, Gelsey Kirkland Academy and American Ballet Theatre. At eighteen, Hannah joined First State Ballet Theatre, where she has performed both corps and soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, and Walpurgis Night. Hannah is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.A. in English Literature. Hannah teaches ballet at a number of area schools, including the School of First State Ballet Theatre. An advocate for the arts, she has had the opportunity to speak to parent groups about the importance of maintaining arts education as part of the school curriculum. When she is not dancing, her interests include reading, cooking for friends and family, creating contemporary quilts and attending live arts performances.
