Erin Kuwabara was born in Brantford, Ontario. Erin began her ballet training at the age of five under the direction of her elder sister, Kathryn Kuwabara. She later studied with Gizella Witkowsky and John Ottmann at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. In 2012, she was accepted into the two-year graduate program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. After graduation, Erin accepted an apprenticeship with Alabama Ballet in Birmingham, Alabama. Erin has performed feature roles in George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes and Serenade, as well as the Flower Girl in Don Quixote, Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee, Dawn in Coppélia, and Agnes de Mille’s Fall River Legend. This year marks Erin’s third season with First State Ballet Theatre. She has enjoyed performing roles such as Pas de Trois in both Swan Lake and Paquita, Gypsy in Viktor Plotnikov’s Romeo and Juliet, and Moyna in Giselle.
