Andrew Matte, a New Hampshire native, began his training at Londonderry Dance Academy with Barbara Mullen. He has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Hartford, where he continued his training under Samantha Dunster and esteemed guests Angel Corella and Xiomara Reyes. This is Andrew’s fourth season with First State Ballet Theatre, where he has performed such roles as Rothbart in Swan Lake, Bacchus in Walpurgisnacht, Hilarion in Giselle, and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet. Recently venturing into the world of choreography, Andrew has had the opportunity to create pieces for First State Ballet Theatre, Londonderry Dance Academy, Washington College, and for students entering competitions such as the Youth American Grand Prix and World Ballet Competition. When he is not in the studio, Andrew enjoys reading, writing plays, and cooking extravagant meals.
